1. Measure the length of the deck span to receive the railing with a tape measure. Lay out positions for the posts evenly spaced along the rail, no more than 8 feet apart.
Place the bottom rail between the posts with the rubber connectors facing up. The Railing Connectors sit right on top of the post base trim, providing two inches of space between the deck surface and the bottom edge of the rail. Center the rail, and fasten the railing connectors securely.
Ultra Deck Railing Installation Does anyone know of any videos of how to install ultra deck railings. The way I read it it says to screw post spindle to post and then screw top and bottom rails on but how do you put the sindles in if the rails on on is this right.

The existing deck rail is 37-1/2 inches high so I was able to install the guard posts before tearing off the rail cap and pickets. I measured and sawed 46-1/4 inch long guard posts that ran from the bottom edge of the 2×10 beams to the rail cap. This gave me two 4×4 guard posts per 8 foot piece of lumber with scrap.
